Dennis (played by Simon Pegg) was afraid of starting a family and felt that he would ruin the life of his girlfriend Billie (played by Thandie Newton), so he abandoned his pregnant girlfriend and ran away on his wedding day. Five years later, Dennis discovered that he had always been in love with Billie. Even though they meet often because of their sons, Billie is already dating accountant Witt (Hank Azaria), and she has already given up on Dennis because of his behavior back then.
