The Corner Shop

Budapest, Hungary, an ordinary small grocery store on the corner. The owner Hugo Matushek (Frank Morgan) has been running this small store, and his clerk Alfred Clerik (James Stewart) is the most experienced and outstanding clerk in the store. Clar Novak (Margaret Sullivan), who came to the small store to apply for a job, was quickly hired by the boss, but she and Alfred hated each other and could not tolerate each other. Alone and infatuated, Alfred has a pen pal he has never met. When he went to the bar to meet his pen pal behind his boss's back, he unexpectedly discovered that the close pen pal he had admired for a long time was actually Klar, whom he hated. In a twist of fate, Alfred, who was fired by his boss, did not dare to acknowledge her because he was unemployed. The classic comedy film "The Corner Shop" directed by the famous film comedy master Ernst Lubitsch was included in the American Film Institute's Top 100 Romance Films of the Century.
