The Barber of Siberia

On a train bound for Moscow, Andrei Tolstoy (Oleg Menshikov), a student at the Military Academy Menshikov) meets the charming American woman Jane (Julia Ormond), and the two fall in love secretly. Jane lied about being a widow and came to Russia to visit her crazy machinist father (Richard Harris), but she was actually a courtesan hired to trick the director of the military academy, General Radlov (Aleksey Petrenko), into trusting her so that the machinist's "Siberian Barber" woodcutter could sail smoothly into West Berlin. But he didn't expect the general to have true feelings for Jane and want to propose to her. Andre's feelings for Jane became more and more intense. On the one hand, Jane wanted to accept Andre's feelings, and on the other hand, she wanted to complete the mission, so the incident developed out of control. During a performance, Andrei injured the dean due to jealousy and misunderstanding, and was exiled to Siberia. Although Jane caught up with the final farewell at the train station, Andre never got to see Jane for the last time. Ten years later, Jane finally found Ander in Siberia.
