Assembly Number [Film and TV Commentary]

During the Liberation War in 1948, Company Commander Gu Zidi (Zhang Hanyu) (played by Hu Jun) led 47 soldiers of the Ninth Company to perform the task of covering the retreat of the large forces on the bank of the Wen River. The regiment leader Liu Zeshui (played by Hu Jun) ordered to use the assembly call as the order and retreat when the sound of the call was sounded. The tragic war began with the roar of artillery shells. The soldiers of the Ninth Company suffered heavy casualties. Platoon Commander Jiao Dapeng (played by Liao Fan) said before his death that he heard the assembly call, but Gu Zidi did not hear it himself, so he decided to defend his position. The Ninth Company repelled three enemy attacks, blew up two tanks, and wiped out countless enemies. All 47 people in the company except the company commander Gu Zidi were killed. This war changed Gu ZiDe's life. Because the unit number was changed, the organization could not be found in Guzidi, and the martyrs who died in the Ninth Company were also deemed missing. Gu ZiDe began an arduous search to find an explanation for the brothers in the Ninth Company, and to find out the truth about the assembly call that year.
