Flag of the Mist

Masao Yanagida (Hiroshi Sekiguchi) who lives in Kokura, Kitakyushu ) and Tongzi (played by Yamaguchi Momoe) are a pair of hard-working siblings whose parents died early and have been dependent on each other since childhood. One day, Zhengfu was accused of being a suspect in a robbery and murder case and was arrested. When the evidence was conclusive, the honest and dull elementary school teacher Zhengfu could not defend himself. Tongzi, who firmly believes in her brother's innocence, travels to Tokyo and visits the famous elite lawyer Otsuka Kinzo (played by Rentaro Mikuni) to defend her brother's innocence. Otsuka, who only cares about money, coldly rejected the desperate Kiriko. This scene happened to be seen by Keiichi Abe (played by Miura Tomokazu), a reporter from "Social Weekly". Abe helped Tongzi get through every possible means and tried his best to investigate the truth of the case, but in the end he was unable to change Masao's fate of being executed, and Tongzi's life fell to the bottom. In contrast, the superior Otsuka is proud of himself and enjoys a luxurious and noble life, but he does not realize that his destiny is also influenced by the little people living at the bottom... This film is adapted from the original work of the same name by the mystery writer Matsumoto Seicho.
