Death in Venice

In 1911, the German composer Aschenbach (Dirk Bogarde) came to Venice with the grief of losing his daughter, and wanted to take advantage of the beautiful scenery of the water city to soothe his mood. However, all the scenery just evoked sadder memories, until he met the beautiful young man Tadzio (Bern Anderson) in the hotel. His face was like a Greek statue, which made him tremble all over, and he was completely immersed in the excitement and enthusiasm. Later, the city of Venice was enveloped by the plague, but the officials deliberately blocked the news. When Aschenbach gradually discovered this alarming crisis, he did not panic like others and wanted to escape as soon as possible. On the contrary, in order to see Tadzio one more time, he was willing to contract the plague and die in Venice.
