Cutthroat Island

The three brothers Harry, Doug (Frank Langella), and Modine, who are active in the Caribbean, each keep one-third of a treasure map. Doug wants to monopolize the treasure and Harry is seriously injured to death. Harry's daughter Morgan (Geena Davis) takes over the Morning Star pirate ship and inherits her father's last wish of revenge and treasure hunting. Morgan removed the treasure map from his father's scalp, but because he could not read the Latin on the map, he logged in to ask for help. When the habitual thief Xiao (played by Matthew Modine) was sold into slavery by the authorities, Morgan relied on Xiao's translation ability to buy him, and soon showed his true qualities as a fierce woman when the police and soldiers hunted her. Morgan and others found Modi, but Doug unexpectedly appeared. Modi died in the chaos, and Xiao took the second treasure map as his own. Morgan punished Shaw for his disloyalty, but was unable to get rid of Doug who was following him. Eventually, the crew mutinied and Morgan lost the Morning Star. Although Shaw assisted Morgan in discovering the location of the Cutthroat Island treasure, it was not easy to obtain the treasure under the siege of Doug and the army.
